Extended Care Team Member - After School Child Care

Job Title: Extended Care Team Member Department: Extended Care Position: Non-Exempt, Part-Time Saint Patrick Catholic School is currently seeking an Extended Care Team Member for Before and After School Childcare to work with students.
Overview Founded in 2005, Saint Patrick Catholic School (Norfolk, Virginia) is an independent Catholic school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight.

Responsibilities Provide quality care, support and experiences for students in the Extended Care program Escort students safely to/from classrooms and resource centers on campus Plan, participate and engage students in various enrichment activities Interact with students on an appropriate level Model positive and nurturing behavior at all times; promote a culture of respect for all members of the community Resolve conflicts as needed and in accordance with 101 Positive Principles of Discipline Identify and report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior to the Director of Auxiliary Programs Organize and clean spaces that were used for Extended Care before leaving shift Perform and adhere to all program guidelines and safety protocols Attend regular faculty and department meetings and contribute to teamwork and positive morale Perform other duties as directed by school administration Preferred Qualifications Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with children and adults Ability to assist children with homework and age-appropriate learning activates Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop, and run Committed to serving as a role model for student Education and Experience High School diploma or GED 1 year of related experience working with school-aged children First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred) Benefits Competitive salaries based on experience Unlimited coffee, and on-campus parking Saint Patrick Catholic School is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants for positions without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, or genetic information.
