3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you will support the Operations and Area Project Manager in the management and interfacing of Subcontracts.
The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of Dragados, Flatiron, and VINCI has been selected to construct the $3.
3BN Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.
5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction.
The twin 45 diameter 1.
5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.
The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.
Position Summary: The primary role of the Contracts Administrator is to support the Operations and Area Project Manager in the management and interfacing of Subcontracts.
Principle Accountability and Responsibility: Engage with the project s engineering team, attend general design meetings, or specific task force meetings as needed to acquire the necessary level of understanding of technical issues with commercial implications.
Monitor the subcontract compliance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement.
Inform the Project Manager and the Contract Manager of any identified deviations, and prepare formal notifications to the Subcontractor, as requested.
Review the merit of the delay notifications submitted by the subcontractor; formally validate or refute with the Project Managers prior approval.
Review the merit of the Potential Change Orders that are applicable; formally validate or refute with the Project Managers' prior approval Prepare instructions for changes in applicable subcontract Scope of Services or Schedule.
Analyze the scope, schedule, and pricing of applicable Change Order Requests; negotiate, as applicable, with the coordination of the Contracts Manager.
Prepare and attend the recurring change management meetings; maintain logs of commercial correspondences.
Monitor the subcontractors' progress in collaboration with the Project s Scheduling department; inform the Project Manager and the Contract Manager of any identified deviations, and prepare formal notifications, as required/needed.
Review the Prime contract technical specifications, and understand the difference between performance and prescriptive specifications.
Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years experience with construction and/or engineering subcontracts (writing, editing, supporting, etc) Strongly Encouraged: Subcontract experience within a general contractor Experience in heavy civil engineering design Heavy civil construction knowledge Detail-oriented Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented capacity Key Skills and Knowledge: Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal Fluent in English with professional proficiency Strong attention to details Strong Organizational Skills
