The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of Dragados, VINCI, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.
3bn Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.
5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction.
The twin 45’ diameter 1.
5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.
The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.
*Key Responsibilities* * Complete company required or regulatory documents such as DRA, JHA, Weekly Jobsite Inspection sheet, timesheets, etc.
* Supervise, mentor, and coach craft personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements.
* Direct work of assigned crew to meet daily schedule.
* Understand production schedule and adjust daily work to meet schedule.
* Oversee the reception of the Conveyor belt system.
* Perform daily forecast of crew cost and production rate and report to management as required.
* Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment.
* Perform fleet administration duties and request materials/supplies needed for scope of work.
* Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications.
* Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for craft personnel and subcontractors.
* Ensures workers are fully qualified to perform assigned duties.
* Knowledge and understanding of prevailing wage rules.
* Coordinate sub-contractors onsite.
* Support published corporate policies.
* Perform additional assignments as needed and per management’s direction.
*Knowledge/Skill Requirements* * Equipment management experience highly desired.
* Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
* Experience managing subcontractors preferred.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving several concrete variables * Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Availability and willingness to work weekends and night shifts per business needs.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail.
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment.
* Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
* Compliance with all OSHA regulations.
*Work Requirements* * Must be 18 years in age or older * Must pass drug screen.
* Minimum two (2) years’ experience in heavy civil construction projects preferred * Candidates with High School Diploma are preferred.
