The Building Superintendent will supervise subcontractors and employees in the Construction of the Buildings to house The buildings are VDOT operation facilities for the operation of the road.
They will be built on the islands, next to the tunnel entrances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for understanding the construction scope of the USPE Facilities.
Coordinates work between various Subcontractors and Construction Trades
Responsible for reviewing Contractual Change Orders
Supports Handover of the Facilities to Client
Construction Planning and Forecasting
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Committed with the schedule to be achieved.
Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Subcontractor’s daily liaison
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Directs subcontractors
Support in Cost control
Attend coordination and production meetings with the PM to develop activities and amend possible problems related to structures
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 10 years experience in similar role
Buildings construction experience
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving several variables
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
Spanish Speaking is a Plus.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor work located in heavy civil construction site.
Various levels of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to: project worksites; vendor/client facilities which may or may not have temporary office spaces; high number of heavy construction equipment; high and precarious places; excessive noise; high workforce numbers of craft, supervision, owners representatives, and management; fumes or airborne particles; and extreme temperatures.
PPE will be provided.
