At Laborde Products, we have a history of developing foreign engine brands in the North American market and are currently looking for an Outside Sales professional to facilitate the expansion of our marine business in the Northeast Region of the United States while placing an emphasis on customer experience.
In this role, you will:
• Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue.
• Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
• Build and foster a network of referrals to crate new opportunities for growth.
• Maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
• Overcome objections of prospective customers.
• Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time efficient manner.
• Utilize marketing data using applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
• Establish front-line assessment of market conditions and advise department managers and marketing staff of findings.
• Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other industry research.
• Work with internal team to develop technical customer proposals.
• Work with customers and vendors on creative technical solutions and minimizing costs.
• Understand customer needs and design technical solutions to work within budget and construction time frame.
• Conduct vessel surveys and review findings with customer.
• May perform other duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications we are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 3+ years of outside sales experience with experience in the maritime industry preferred.
• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management.
• Demonstrated success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.

Work Schedule and Benefits:
• This position requires frequent travel to cover the assigned territory and often includes several hours of driving per day; some entertainment on nights and weekends will be required.
• You will work in a home office on Mondays and the rest of the time will be Outside Sales.
