The Internship Opportunity: Sales & Port-Centric Logistics
The Port of Virginia – Virginia International Terminals is seeking a Sales & Port-Centric Logistics intern to compare the 2-day ground reach for our logistics partners with our port, as compared to our competing ports.
The intern will also aim to identify a list of businesses that fit this model of direct to consumer delivery.
This internship opportunity will assist the Port of Virginia by providing us with a sales & marketing tool to use on calls & advertising that will provide a benefit to setting up a distribution facility in Hampton Roads.
The Port of Virginia's 8 Week Summer Internship Program runs from June 3, 2024 - July 26, 2024, and is designed to develop, teach, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students as they explore career opportunities within the maritime industry.
Students will be given the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to hands on project focused tasks in various departments throughout The Port of Virginia.
What You’ll Do: Outcomes & Experience
Gain working knowledge of research tools such as PIERS, Sales Navigator, Panjiva, and other market databases.
Develop maps indicating reach including major cities and estimated population served.
Who You Are: Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled and in an accredited program or graduate program (having completed freshman / first year) during the time of the program.
Must be available to work full time (40 hours per week) from June 3, 2024 – July 26, 2024.
