SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Safety, Associate to provide organizational guidance and support in safety, quality assurance, and process improvement and ensure compliance with company, industry, and government regulatory policies and standards.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Support the quality assurance and safety-related activities of the WR Quality Team.
Conduct scheduled internal quality audits, and on-site workplace spot checks to include safety, quality assurance, customer property, calibration and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
Document and report audit outcomes; identify and document process nonconformities and verified corrective action.
Conduct/assist with internal training sessions related to safety and quality.
Participate and assist in the set-up and preparation of Quality Management System (QMS) management reviews, as a member of the Quality Team.
Assist in the maintenance of the hazardous chemical list, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library and the hazardous chemical inventories.
Identify potential workplace hazards for employees to ensure the safety of the employees and products they produce.
Assist with safety related accident and illness investigations.
Assist with determining the need for, and issuing of, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees and visitors.
Review new and updated Quality Management System (QMS) documentation as needed for compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Participate in regular status meetings of the Quality Team and other WR meetings as required.
Promote and support compliance with, and continual improvement of, the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
Associate’s degree in related field preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2)+ years of experience in a quality or safety-related position.
Experience with the following:
Identifying and documenting nonconformities.
Performing Root Cause Analysis or similar function.
Reviewing and execution of testing plans, e.
g.
, Factory Acceptance Tests, First Article Inspections, Source Inspections, Visual Inspections, Electrical and Connectivity Testing, along with knowledge of various testing methods.
Proficiency in MS Office tools and applications to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat/PDF Formats.
Must have a high degree of attention to detail and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work on-site at our Norfolk facility.
Preferred:
Related experience in a federal government contractor setting.
Relevant professional certifications related to QA and/or Safety.
Knowledge of Quality Management/Process Improvement standards and models such as ISO 9001:2015 or CMMI.
Understanding of basic quality sampling and statistical techniques.
