Systems Engineer
Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises is looking for a Systems Engineer to support its Air Force Programs in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description:
Analyze all systems of measurement and reporting to develop and report on system availability metrics and leading indicators of performance and sustainment Write technical briefings, engineering change proposals, and system documentation.
Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs and providing technical documents and support.
Maintain system configuration control over software and hardware versions.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network issues.
Monitor and analyze overall system performance for areas of improvement/optimization.
Support Government Acceptance Test and resolve all anomalies identified.
Perform security risk management, maintain network system security, and network protection in accordance with DoD policy and standards.
Provide interface control documents, emulator/simulator baseline control, test plans, network diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications:
Must have a BS in Engineering (i.
e.
, Mechanical, Electrical or System) and at least 5 years’ experience OR a BS in Computer Science and at least 5 years’ experience in the designing, developing, building, analyzing, testing and maintaining mechanical/electrical systems.
Must have experience with the engineering, design, development, testing, maintenance, build, install and/or configuration management of DoD IT systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Prefer experience with Electronic Security Systems.
Prefer a Security+ Certification.
Prefer the ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
Prefer strong verbal communications skills and a positive attitude.
Prefer a detail-oriented team player.
Security Requirements:
Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.
Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal Travel; 10% or less.
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or aircraft shelter environment.
Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
