Sentara Patient Accounting is seeking to hire an experienced individual to join our team as an AR Specialist I.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift (Monday through Friday)
Department Operation Hours: As early as 6am - 2:30 pm or as late as 9am - 5:30pm.
Position Location: This is a remote position in Hampton Roads, VA.
Selected candidates will be required to report onsite for training ay our office in Norfolk, VA for 3-4 weeks.
Position Overview: This position will report to the Eligibility and COB Denials team, and is responsible for the billing of insurance claims and the resolution of issues preventing the payment of outstanding accounts receivable, for assigned payer(s).
Minimum Requirements:
A total of one year of experience across the following: billing or resolving insurance accounts receivable, adjudicating insurance claims, pre-registering or registering patients for healthcare services, handling calls in a customer service call center.
A healthcare certification from an accredited program or an Associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent
