Join us in making a profound difference! Position Summary We're looking for a Psychiatrist or PMHNP to join our team! The position is primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation and collaboration with care team as needed.
The position will provide pharmacological treatment, if indicated, and request and review any needed lab work.
Position collaborates with team members, care givers, external medical providers to oversee and promote the health and safety of clients throughout the treatment process.
Relationships and Contacts Within the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with staff, clients, families, facility, and peers throughout the organization.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.
Psychiatrist/PMHNP Essential Responsibilities Conducts all Psychiatric Evaluations and ensures medical necessity for all individuals enrolled in the PHP.
Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed.
Available on-site at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication.
Provides consultation, education and related information to patients and the families, if involved, to increase success of treatment and program engagement.
Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions.
Provides consultation to community referrals as needed to ensure successful disposition of former patients.
Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements.
Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary.
ISJPOP Psychiatrist/PMHNP Experience: Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.
Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.
Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider required.
Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus.
Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity.
Psychiatrist Education: Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist.
All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in Virginia.
PMHNP Education: Board Eligible or Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner.
All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in Virginia.
