We are a residential treatment program that serves military-connected youth between the ages of 11-17.
We operate out of a beautiful campus in Norfolk, Virginia.
As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRS) you would be responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating Recreational Therapy and special events to ensure appropriate recreation/leisure educational opportunities for each resident.
This role would allow you to be a key member of our comprehensive treatment team.
The CTRS role provides the ability to plan recreational therapy activities in conjunction with treatment goals of our residents/participants.

Responsibilities:
Assisting with in-depth evaluations of participants utilizing a variety of assessment tools that identify patient's functional skills for leisure/recreation participation.
Planning as well as facilitating recreational therapy groups and activities with a focus on socio-emotional wellbeing and development
Ability to work in a fun and rewarding environment!
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation of Recreation Therapy
Active certification through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
Open for discussions of testing for CTRS exam during hiring process
Experience working with children or adolescents, 3 years preferred.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Experience working in behavioral health or mental health setting.
Must be comfortable with therapy animals, including both horses and dogs.
Experience in small group interventions, large scale activities and community integration/relationships
Ability to work evenings, rotating weekends and holidays required
