Medical Biller and Coder

At *Verdi Eye Specialists, *we are seeking an experienced *Medical Billing Specialist* to join our dynamic team.
The Billing Specialist will be responsible for collecting, posting, and managing patient account payments.
Responsible for submitting patient claims to insurance companies and following up on the claims with insurance companies Duties: - Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for billing and reimbursement - Ensure accurate and timely submission of medical claims to insurance companies - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies - Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation - Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred - Certification in medical coding (such as CPC, CCS, or RHIT) strongly preferred - Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and other coding systems - Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance claim submission - Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical records management - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
