Overview: Provides various types of management and technical support to a wide range of projects supporting the NEXWDC Program Manager as one of three functional leaders.
The Senior Military Analyst/Instructor - Academics (SMA-A) oversees contract performance in support of advanced expeditionary warfighting courses and staff planning, Expeditionary Warfare Tactics Instructor (ExWTI) program, instruction and student assessment, and curriculum research, maintenance, and development.
The SMA-A manages the Curriculum Research, Maintenance, and Development Instructor Cadre and the Course Supervisor-Instructional System Design.
Place of Performance: Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center (NEXWDC), Virginia Beach, VA Description: Provides a second management layer on-site to oversee task-focused element performance to include: Permitted broad discretion to allocate resources within their respective assigned cadres necessary to meet the supported NEXWDC Department’s near- and longer-term requirements Co-Manages Military Analyst/Instructors (MA/Is) with SMA-Exercises, Operational logistics Instructor/Planner (Ops Log I/P), and Intelligence Planner/Instructor (Intel P/I), and Expeditionary-Information Warfare Instructor (Ex IW/Intel) Supports N7 and N2 with the development, update, maintenance, and instruction of core advanced expeditionary warfighting and staff planning courses [i.

, Operational Planning Team (OPT) Leader Course; Commander’s Course; Watch Officer/Chief Course; and Staff Estimates], ExWTI program, and Expeditionary Information Warfare Team Trainer (Ex-IWTT) course.
Establish strong, productive communication with the supported Department Maximize contractor workforce responsiveness and flexibility to changing/emerging circumstances Minimize risk of schedule disruptions and the need for government oversight Requirements: Military/Navy Community Experience: Requires minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in program management, military operations, operational support, planning, coordination, training and technical analyses with O5/O6-level US military experience which includes a combination of units at the unit (battalion, squadron, ship, etc.
) level; operational staff experience at the Group (brigade, afloat squadron, regiment, etc.
) and/or Task Force, Joint or coalition/combined level; Command and Control Operations; and direct participation in real world operations/ deployment and relevant Fleet, USMC, Joint and/or coalition/combined operations.
Additionally: Possess experience and thorough knowledge and understanding in the field of educational and training programs, general administration procedures, and sound principles of training management to develop and issue training solutions; and review, evaluate and implement program curricula Experience in military training and education; instructional design, development and planning; and educational evaluation experience Experience relevant to Navy live, virtual, constructive, and simulation training development and execution at the operational and tactical level; and readiness assessment concepts, practices, and procedures Background experience in Expeditionary Warfare to include one or more of the following areas: with Naval Construction, Navy Expeditionary Logistics, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Coastal Riverine, Navy Expeditionary Intelligence, Navy and Naval Expeditionary operations, Amphibious operations, Combat Service Support, Expeditionary Mine Counter Measures (MCM) operations, and Force Protection (FP) A thorough doctrinal and practical understanding of the military decision making process, the Navy Planning Process, Marine Corps Planning Process, and/or the Joint Operational Planning Process Excellent analytical problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Civilian Education: Bachelor's degree is required.
Security Clearance: Possess the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
