Optometric Technician.
We are an optometric practice servicing the Hamptons Road for the past 20+ years.
We have been an integral part of the community providing full scope comprehensive eye care to those around and their family.
Our goal is to continue to enhance and correct our patients’ visual needs, while providing a local and family friendly environment.
We are a growing and are looking to add to the members of our team to join us in this journey.
Salary: Starting at $15 an hour.
Job Type: Full-time Location: Virginia Beach Experience: Previous optometric/ophthalmic technician experience.
Customer service/pharmacy tech/Medical front desk experience favored but not necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities: • Greet patients and collect a good medical and case history.
• Input correct patient’s information into the computer system.
• Pre-Testing patient before seeing the eye doctor.
• Willing to learn new skill/Cross train; Ancillary equipment include Retina photos/Imaging OCT/Visual Field testing, among others.
• Assist in patient contact lens insertion and removal training.
• Maintain basic inventory for office and vision related supply.
• Answer phone calls and Fax notes when necessary.
• Understand and follow HIPAA standards and guidelines • May assist the doctor on other duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Basic computer skills.
• A friendly demeanor and willing to learn.
• Dependable form of transportation • Have good time management skills and integrity.
• Maintain a professional and respectful manner towards staff and patients.
• Desire to gain further industry knowledge/training Education/qualification: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) • Medical/Ophthalmic background (Preferred) Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $15.
