Thompson First Group is seeking an *Industrial Machine Shop Parts Inspector* for direct placement opportunities for a local client in *Portsmouth, VA.

*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
* Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes to confirm assigned products and parts meet specifications utilizing quality control systems and procedures
* Conducts visual and dimensional tests using calibrated equipment to ensure the accuracy of the finished products and conformance to customer specifications
* Determines whether parts not meeting specifications can be salvaged
* Documents measured results of machining operations
* Prepares reports and associated paperwork documenting inspection findings
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
* Performs other related duties as assigned

*Qualifications*
* High school diploma or GED
* At least 5 years of machining experience is preferred
* At least two years of experience as a quality control inspector preferred
* Read blueprints
* Ability to perform tests and inspections using calibrated instruments
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
* Language skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner
