The ideal candidate will be able to provide leadership and coordination of assigned Day Services.
Support the Assistant Vice President and Director of Behavioral Health and Development Services in development and implementation of strategic plans and programs and serve as a liaison to government and community agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation: Plans, leads, coordinates, develops, monitors, and oversees Day Services and involves managerial subordinates in implementing program operational plans.
Aids in the development and management of Day Services budgets; tracks financial and performance management goals.
Ensures organizational compliance with federal and state regulations.
Develops and submits appropriate residential policies and procedures for review and implementation.
Designs and implements training for staff to provide service in the Day Services setting.
Fosters positive communication and customer relations to enhance the development of resident services as well as build partnerships for the organization.
Ensures service sites are compliant and operating efficiently by using best practices while consistently adhering to licensing and organizational policy and procedure.
Supervises assigned staff, which includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, staff training, monitoring performance and work allocation and problem resolution.
Works to ensure that all Medicaid renewal applications are submitted in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Local travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE: The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully: Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience and three (3) years of relevant experience Experience providing service to individuals with disabilities, including documentation billing, is required.
Acceptable driving record necessary and clearance through a criminal background check and drug screening Knowledge of state and federal regulations for day service and human rights Willingness to learn and comply with corporate policies and procedures.
Sound management practices and professional ethics and boundaries.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Capable or establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with staff, families, referral sources, and members of the community.
Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks.
Effective use of technology and information systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical demands : Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation.
Additionally, the employee: Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an office or indoor setting or externally in community settings.
Indoor environmental conditions will vary according to the weather conditions prevalent at the time and exposure to inclement weather extreme temperature variations can be expected when in community settings.
The noise level in the work environment will vary.
While working with individuals with mental/physical disabilities, exposure to physical risks from behaviorally challenged individuals and contact exposure to human pathogens and/or biohazards is possible.
