The Supervisor of Quality Control is directly responsible for oversight of the quality control programs, pull out personal and administer Keeps Manager of Training & Technical Support informed of personnel and vehicle/equipment maintenance needs.

) Achieves departmental goals, performance plans and standards and objectives.
Monitors progress towards established goals and reports results to Director of Maintenance.
Takes corrective action to achieve goals.
Responsible for monitoring and inspection work performed both at HRT repair sites and contactor repair sites of HRT owned vehicles.
Doing physical inspections, EAM, and other records available to determine if proper maintenance is being performed and if there are repeaters.
Provides feel back to appropriate HRT staff to findings.
Develop action plans to correct the issues, working with appropriate staff to resolve training and procedure issues.
Responsible for maintaining accurate computerized and paper maintenance records in compliance with HRT procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
Provides accurate data in support of Key Performance Indicators.
Develop vehicle maintenance procedures to maintain equipment and systems to meet or exceed industry and government standards.
Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures [SOP's], emergency plans and maintenance Operating Rules and Regulations maintenance operations.
Assists in development of the annual maintenance budget.
Manages department budgetary outcomes within approved guidelines.
Develop annual maintenance plans inclusive of staff, inventory and equipment needs.
Coordinates all aspects of material needs with materials and inventory departments.
Manages various contracted repairs of revenue vehicles and sub- components with outside agencies.
Assist in preparation of job descriptions, interviews, testing, as well as the development and implementation of training programs.
Maintains an organized, safe, and healthy work and shop environment, ensuring strict compliance with all safety, security, cleanliness, environmental, and HAZMAT regulations.
Responsible for instilling a sense of urgency in the performance of all team duties to maximize effectiveness of the organization at large.
Provides technical assistance and support to maintenance personnel as required.
Assist in the preparation of Safety Rules and Regulations for all maintenance functions.
Ensures that quality and safety are integrated into all aspects of their responsibilities.
Oversees and assures compliance of all personnel and contractors with all HRT policies and procedures.
Set up a system of compliance checks for operating and safety rules.
Provides input to the Director for quarterly/yearly personnel evaluations for first line maintenance supervisors.
Maintains knowledge of labor contract provisions and ensures compliance with such provisions relative to work assignments, schedules, discipline, wages, absence control policy, etc.
Communicates with personnel throughout the agency to coordinate activities and to resolve problems; ensures sufficient flow of communication between maintenance personnel and management.
Review the design and construction plans and drawings of all maintenance plans, and system specifications for the Rolling Stock and Physical Plant to ensure the systems are designed for safe and efficient operation.
Manage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.
Prepare and/or coordinate with other departments any documentation required in support of the FTA triennial reviews, drug and alcohol audits, independent audits, state audits, EEO Program audit, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions: Requires extensive experience in vehicle maintenance; must be able to make sound maintenance decisions based upon technical experience and knowledge; must have excellent written and oral communication skills; must have proficient computer skills; must be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, and with local, state, federal, and elected officials; proven ability to effectively work with others in an operating and unionized environment; must be able to work outside regular business hours as required.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions: Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential.
Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected.
Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.
Software applications: MS Word and Excel, EAM Safety Responsibility: Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.
Ensure all employees and contractors are properly trained and understand all rules, safety policies, and procedures to perform their work functions safely.
Promote safety awareness by attending safety committee meetings and adhering to all safety procedures and policies.
Actively conduct workplace hazard analyses for all employees to maintain a safe work environment.
Encourage employee safety reporting program and communication of hazards to the Safety Department.
Responsible for the timely mitigation of all unacceptable and undesirable safety risks.
Accountable for safety performance within their functional area and achieving the agency’s safety goals.
Training and/or Education: Minimum qualifications include: an associate degree in vehicle maintenance or related technical field.
A combination of relevant experience and technical training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Must have a learners permit for a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a (P) endorsement at the time of hire and acquire the above-mentioned license within 6 months of hire.
Required Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the management of maintenance functions within a diesel-powered fleet maintenance environment, one (1) year of which must be within a unionized environment.
Licenses or Certificates: Must have CDL Class B license and/or CDL permit and the ability to acquire within sixty (60) days of employment a valid Virginia CDL Class B license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
Special Requirements: Ability to pass DOT physical.
This position is classified as essential.
Must be able to pass federal government background screening process for local military installation access.
