The Opportunity: Manager, Revenue Accounting Systems
The Port of Virginia – Virginia Port Authority is seeking a Manager, Revenue Accounting Systems to manage system billing practices, and have functional to expert knowledge on the activities on terminal that call for billing, customer contracts, and the SOR.
What You'll Do: Responsibilities
Manage development and configuration changes, primarily to N4 Billing with secondary support on other financial related system (including PeopleSoft accounts receivable and Port Chassis, and internal chassis billing application, and any other billing application used by the organization), to include working with IT and third parties to maximize performance of the systems.
Provide feedback on draft customer contract language to ensure financial, operational, and Sales/customer alignment.
Participate in the execution of annual contract and tariff rate changes.
Modify system configurations to comply with required contract or business changes, and optimize functionally for system efficiency and end user productivity.
Develop queries for data analytics for testing and end user use.
Test changes and documents processes, as well as train staff on the use of related billing/financial systems, to include preparing and maintaining user job aids and manuals with system specifications.
Provide details and recommendations to existing or potential trouble areas within the selected financial systems.
Ensure monitoring of interfaces, processes and backups to head off potential loss of use.
Take contract knowledge and apply how the systems are configured and integrate with each other.
Ensure public records and information are managed, maintained, and disposed in accordance to the Library of Virginia.
Ensures compliance with all security, safety, and environmental regulations and policies within work area at all times.
This includes properly addressing issues through action or reporting issues and concerns to Manager.

Who You Are: Qualifications
High school diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or similar field preferred.
Five years of relevant experience required.
Two years of leadership experience required.
Ability to grasp ship line contracts, SORs, and how they are different or compare to each other.
Billing or collections experience.
Broad technical skills with sufficient knowledge in application support and system development.
Understanding of Maritime Operational Revenues and service contracts.
N4 Billing or PeopleSoft experience preferred.
