PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementing strategies to drive employee retention and success to meet the needs of the organizations strategic and functional goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and lead and direct an effective Human Resources Department in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, training, benefits, and compliance.
Constantly seek to improve process and service delivery through automation, efficiency and implementing best emerging practices.
Train and develop HR department employees, recruit, and retain HR top talent.
Advise senior management on HR Metrics including turnover, latest trends, developments, and legal requirements affecting employers, employees, and their relationships.
Partner with Senior leadership to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives and priorities.
Develop financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances related to hiring.
Create and deliver communications and activities that promote employee understanding of goals of the company, include current events in the planning and implementation of those goals.
Develop and oversee Human Resources related policies and programs that reflect the mission and values of the company and meet the needs of the organization and are in legal compliance.
Develop methods/procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
Work towards continued development of the department to include but not limited to implementation of new or updated software, manuals, forms, and processes.
Support all internal and external audits related to Human Resources.
Conduct employee engagement and satisfaction surveys to measure the success of programs and initiatives.
Research, analyze and implement employee retention strategies.
Including creating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
Advise 1000+ employees about company policies and problem-solving alternatives; Lead and mentor others to ensure consistent application of all work rules and policies.
Mediate conflict and facilitate problem solving among team members as required.
Ensure employee leave management processes comply and are well communicated to employees outlining rights and procedure to apply, be approved and return to work.
(LOAs, STD, LTD).
Conduct interactive dialogue as required by law related to limitations/accommodation requests and modified return to work status approvals.
Develop performance management programs to help ensure regular and consistent employee feedback that drives high performance.
Provide thoughtful and effective coaching to leaders on all aspects of HR.
Periodically review all benefit and wage programs, working with consultants as needed, to maintain current and competitive programming that attracts and retains quality team members while remaining affordable to the company.
Oversee and review the processing of monthly benefit billing processing.
Participate with Sr Leadership and Benefits Broker on Annual Benefits plan review and preparation for new plan year decisions.
Implement best in class recruitment strategy pulling in diversity, sourcing, passive candidate strategies and challenging status quo where change management needed.
Review/create job descriptions that are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field.
10+ years’ experience managing HR direct reports.
Demonstrated growth and leadership in Human Resources Management.
Positive, forward thinking and strategically focused with the ability to align Human Resources initiatives to the corporate objectives.
Proven ability and operational focus to manage Human Resources functional areas.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, project documents, etc.
Working knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) filings and benefit eligibility, high level Excel and Access.
Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills.
Conflict resolution, problem solving, and mediation skills.
Demonstrated flexibility, perseverance, and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, SPHR/PHR, CEBS - Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Active member in local and national SHRM with drive to encourage same of reporting team members.
Knowledge of flex spending discrimination testing and 5500 filings.
ERISA knowledge.
