The Commercial Engineering Team Leader - IX/Bridge NAM Services will screen new projects, assign work, ensure compliance with QMS and Commercial processes as well as develop, coach and mentor the team.
The Commercial Engineering Team Leader will partner with the Sales and Execution teams to drive growth through strategic execution, as well as partner with the Services Engineering team to ensure the optimum solution to meet the client’s needs.
Processes will need to be developed to ensure the proper balance of risk and reward to ensure profitable growth for the organization.
Partnering with various functions such as the Services Projects execution team will be expected.
Essential Responsibilities Coordinate with Sales Team to support opportunities including screening new opportunities and managing resources to meet sales team needs.
Coordinate and be responsible for the work of a team of Commercial Engineers.
Assign resources.
Ensure on-time proposals complying with QMS procedures, Commercial Procedures and good commercial practice.
Coach and mentor team members.
Coordinate Commercial Engineering support for all Services Projects in NAM including Budgetary proposals, "Final Bid" proposals, process designs, Process & Instrumentation and General Arrangement Drawing.
Develop budgetary and firm proposals.
Tracking of pipeline and reporting of commercial metrics (orders, revenue, GM, schedule) Develop basic skillsets of contract negotiation and development of risk mitigation strategies.
Apply costing and process design strategies in order to position the company, in the early stages of project development, to increase the probability of success.
Develop and maintain relationships with Regional Sales Managers and Local Representatives and other Commercial Engineering teams.
Assisting Region Sales Managers with sales calls and designing kick-off meetings.
Adhering to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, authorization of Order Packages, and sales forecasting.
EMS input for the team.
Auditing of Risk RAMPS for compliance Partnering with EH&S to ensure safe design and operations This position will be based out of the VEOLIA W&PT Office Oakville, ON, CAN.
Some travel will be required for this position.
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or Technical discipline.
Mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in water & wastewater engineering or equipment supply field, preferably with some knowledge of membrane process equipment.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand bid/proposal specification, both from a technical and commercial perspective, as related to contractual terms and conditions.
Self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player.
Demonstrated dedication to safety.
Effective problem-solving skills.
