3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you will negotiate and manage subcontract term and conditions for products and materials on the job.
The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados and Flatiron have been selected to construct the $3.
3BN Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9-mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.
5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction.
The twin 45 diameter 1.
5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.
The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.
Responsibilities:
Negotiates commercial terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers while consulting with operations, legal department and senior management.
Maintains professional relationships internally and externally.
Supports published project policies.
Performs additional assignments per management s direction.
Actively participates in the close-out of agreements with subcontractors and vendors.
Ensures transfer of knowledge upon contract execution, and help the operations team understand the terms of the subcontract, and the role and obligations of each party.
Helps develop and promote good contracting practices in accordance with HRCP s subcontract management plan.
Engages and maintains constant communication with the field, and attend meetings as needed.
Helps enforce the terms and conditions of the subcontracts and the Prime Contract.
Helps in the resolution of commercial issues with subcontractors.
Reviews draft correspondences from operations team.
Supports the team in the review of subcontractor s requests for contract adjustments.
Monitors flow of formal correspondences between HRCP and subcontractors and ensures that timely responses are provided.
Identifies and reports commercial issues with subcontractors involving Owner within the required notification period.
Maintains Project records.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management or a related field required.
5+ years experience in negotiation, contract management or construction purchasing required.
Proven ability to negotiate contracts.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and database utilization.
Able to identify, track and communicate project plan steps and actions.
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.
Preferred
JD Edwards E1 World experience is a plus.
Experience in heavy civil engineering design.
Heavy civil construction knowledge.
Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
Detail-oriented.
