Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business.
A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom.
Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.
Hajoca Norfolk is looking for an Operations and Inventory Manager at their Norfolk, VA location.
Pay for this position is between $60,000 and $70,000 per year at this location.

We are looking for an Operations & Inventory Manager to add to our close-knit, service-oriented team.

About the Role: You will: • Ensure that all business operations are being conducted in the most efficient, effective, and profitable manner.
• Analyze and manage the processes used in all aspects of the Profit Center’s business, solve problems as they arise, and continually investigate the possibility of productivity improvements.
• Supervise, schedule, and train co-workers to ensure efficient, effective, and profitable operation of all job functions.
• Assist with recruiting, developing, training, coaching, and managing the Profit Center team.
• Review daily management, operational, and sales and inventory reports and address issues immediately.
• Evaluate inventory management reports regularly to ensure an accurate and efficient annual Physical Inventory.
• Analyze product on hand and projected product sales.
• Create vendor Purchase Orders to maintain desired product mix, optimum shelf quantities, and satisfy projected product sales.
• Meet or exceed the Profit Center targets for fill rates/service levels, annual inventory turns, and slow-moving/devalued/overstock inventory levels.
• Maintain market intelligence and report changes in pricing levels and potential problem areas or conditions that could adversely affect the Company’s procurement position.
• Negotiate with and maintain successful relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA, and any other applicable regulations.
• Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
• Ensure the Profit Center conducts all business in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
About You: • College degree or equivalent industry experience • Minimum 2+ years wholesale distribution experience • Minimum 1+ years management experience, supervising co-workers preferred and/or a demonstrated history of leadership experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain customer and vendor contact files, appointments and to analyze performance data.
• Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market preferred.
• Ability to operate forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center • A proper and valid driver’s license for the vehicle(s) being driven.
• A driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy Our ideal candidate will also: • Create and nurture a positive team environment, training and inspiring all co-workers to do their best work to achieve the highest levels of customer and employee satisfaction.
• Be able to build and maintain influential relationships with customers and vendors.
• Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Be able to interpret performance report data to determine effectiveness of business operations; takes appropriate action to adjust processes to maximize profitability.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of and able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT and other material handling and facility safety regulations.
• Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used for business operations.
Experience with an inventory management system preferred.
• Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
• Be able to safely operate a forklift and all material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
