*Role Summary*
The Kitchen Manager at Ocean View Christian Academy is responsible for overseeing the kitchen staff and managing the day to day operations of the OVCA food program.
This includes overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations and the programs used to manage student orders.
The Kitchen Manager reports to the Head of School.
Due to the nature of the position this individual is a twelve-month hourly employee.

*Qualifications*
* Maintain God ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children third and the ministry fourth
* Be an active member in good standing in a local, Christian, Bible teaching church
* Personal religious daily testimony in word and deed is vital to your duties as an employee
* Valid Food Manager Certification Required
* Ability to work well under limited supervision
* High School diploma or a minimum of two years related experience
* Communicate effectively with peers, employees, students & parents
*Responsibilities*
* Manage kitchen staff
* Oversee and ensure daily & weekly cleaning tasks are performed, ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen
* Review and ensure equipment logs are kept up to date, alerting the Director of Operations of issues or problems with said equipment (refrigeration/food bar/dishwasher, etc.
) based on Health Department standards.
* Monitor student accounts, acting as liaison to parents when issues occur within the food program
* Oversee and ensure adequate inventory to meet the needs of each week’s menu
* Assisting Cook in creating weekly grocery list, and ordering online with Restaurant Depot
* Manage/create and adjust menu, to include:
* Assisting Cook in creating new menu items, as necessary
* Updating, and publishing monthly menus in Meal Manage
* Maintain current FOG certification (food, oils & grease)
* Work with the Director of Operations in scheduling yearly inspections, and equipment maintenance
* Help coordinate and execute monthly teacher work day lunches.
* Additional duties as assigned, related to school events, such as cooking lunch for teacher work day.
* Act as a backup cook in the event of a call out.
*Package/Benefits:*
$13 - $17 per hour, compensation depends on experience and qualifications
8:00am-12:30pm Monday - Friday
