Description
Assists with the recruiting, disability management, benefits, payroll, personnel management, and new hire processing needs for the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Performs general Human Resources duties.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Assists with recruitment efforts by preparing advertisements for open positions, monitoring applicant submissions, and processing new employees.
Conducts new hire orientations and onboarding activities.
Provides benefit information to employees and coordinates open enrollment.
Coordinates and assists with leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
Assists in the promotion of Human Resources related initiatives, both internally and externally.
Maintains an up-to date knowledge of Human Resource policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
Gathers, analyzes and interprets salary data, and prepares preliminary reports for management.
Assists in the monitoring, auditing, and processing of bi-monthly payroll.
Research and process payroll discrepancies.
May assist with the accounting and financial management of vendor purchases on occasion.
May assist with grant proposal writing or grant reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Prior relevant education or experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of three years of experience in personnel management or related field preferred.
